Dry powder fire extinguishers can be used in a large variety of situations ie Class A,B and C fires. In Class A fires which involve flammable solids i.e textiles paper and wood, Class B fires are those that involve flammable liquids eg diesel, paint and petrol and Class C fires are those that involve Flammable gases eg butane or methane.The agent in the fire extinguisher forms a thick “blanket” over the fire , starving it from oxygen and extinguishing it   They can be used in garage forecourts, commercial boiler rooms and large workshops.
